OUR STORY
Southern Roots Cattle Company has evolved over time. It all began growing up working with my dad raising cattle of all sorts and kinds. As I got older I developed a passion for the dairy industry and began Crump Dairy Replacements, LLC. Here, I began to earn the trust of my customers as a trusted consultant in the Dairy Cattle industry, running a successful business for the better part of a decade. Later on, we started exporting cattle and received an order for registered Angus cattle to South America. This experience developed an interest in registered beef cattle. One day while having lunch in town, Rick Wood invited us to his Banners and Beyond sale, where we purchased our first Simmentals. With the purchase of these cattle, Southern Roots Cattle Company began. At first, we focused on EPDs and good maternal cattle, but as we continued to purchase other Simmentals we started sponsoring students to show.
It was through sponsoring these students we developed a love for the show side of the Simmental industry. As our taste in cattle evolved we developed our identity in raising cattle with strong maternal characteristics and stellar phenotype. Our goal is to improve EPDs in our cattle while still making competitive cattle for the show ring. We love our “style” of cattle and we hope to share our goals with our customers. Today we raise primarily Simmental and Sim influence females and bulls, but we are growing our line of Maine and Angus genetics as well.
The cattle business is nothing new to Southern Roots Cattle Company. While we are young in the show world, we are continuing to strive for excellence and success in our cattle program. We have an awesome line up of donors with exceptional genetics and we are developing our bull line up to offer semen on our bulls soon. Based out of Habersham County, Southern Roots Cattle Company brings a familiarity to the cattle industry. Southern Roots Cattle Company offers a variety of solutions from Simmental Cattle Donors, Embryos, Semen, Beef, and Livestock products. We invite you to inquire about our cattle and allow us to work with you on developing the genetics desired for your program.
